There is two small problems with displaying embedded
postcripts in xdvik-18d:
1) The maginfying glass does not seems to works. When I clicked on the
postscript figure, I get only a blank sub window.
2) The search for postscipt file fails in the following situation.
Suppose I have my tex file "foo.tex" which refers to a figure
"fig.eps" through \epsfbox{fig.eps} (or a \special command). The files
"fig.eps" and "foo.tex" are on the same directory as well as the
resulting "foo.dvi" file. Then if I start xdvi on a different direcory
(giving it the appropriate path name for the dvi file) then xdvi will
not find the "fig.eps" because it looks for it in the *current*
directory and not in the one where "foo.dvi" resides. The same problem
happens with dvips. However it is quite unusual that that one would
start dvips on a directory other than the one containing the dvi
file. But since xdvi now has the SelFile widget and can be used as a
viewver to view (sucessively) a collection of dvi files, this problem
crops up. My suggestion is that when a relative (postcript) file name
is given, xdvi should look at the directory where the dvi file
resides, instead of the current directory, since it a much more likely
that the required file be there.
